How Does Oberlo Order Fulfilment Works?

Learn how to place your first AliExpress Order with Oberlo

The following steps can be used if you have just received your first sale.

Shopify Payment Capture Settings: Review the settings

Oberlo allows you to only place orders with Paid status. If you capture your payments manually in Shopify, then you need to mark your order as paid in Shopify.

To automatically collect payments in Shopify, you can also set your payment capture settings.

These are the steps:

  1. Click Settings > Payments from your Shopify admin.
  2. Select Automatically capture payments to automatically capture payments in the Payment capture section.
  3. Click Save.

Shopify allows you to review your order processing settings

Shopify automatically fulfills your orders if your order processing settings are set in Shopify. This includes orders with Oberlo products.

Oberlo doesn’t support automatic order fulfillment. You will need to disable automatic order fulfillment in Shopify if you wish to fulfill Oberlo orders.

These are the steps:

  1. Click Settings > Checkout from your Shopify admin.
  2. You can go to the Order Processing section.
  3. Select Do not automatically fulfill any order line items after an order has been placed.
  4. Click Save.

Shopify will automatically fulfill your order. You can cancel this fulfillment request by clicking Orders > CANCEL REQUEST on the order that you wish to cancel.

Send shipping confirmation emails

If you want to automatically inform your customers when their orders are shipped, then you can set up automatic shipping confirmation emails or SMS.

Knowing the Oberlo order statuses will help you better process your orders and make adjustments.

Check out the requirements before placing your order

These are the requirements to meet before you place an AliExpress order

  • You’re on a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile or tablet orders are not possible.
  • You’re using the Google Chrome browser.
  • You have the Oberlo Chrome extension installed on your browser.
  • You have an AliExpress account and you’re signed into it on. You won’t have the ability to track their progress later if you place orders as a guest.
  • So that additional items are not added to the AliExpress order of your customer, you can empty your AliExpress shopping cart.

Place your order and pay

AliExpress allows you to place and pay for Oberlo orders. If your order doesn’t show up in Oberlo, then you need to fix your missing order.

These are the steps:

  1. Click Orders from your Oberlo admin.
  2. To place an order, click ORDERnext. This will take you to the AliExpress checkout site. The Oberlo Chrome extension automatically adds the product to your shopping cart, fills in the customer shipping information, and selects your preferred shipping method.
  3. Choose your preferred payment method and enter your payment details. Click Continue.
  4. Optional If you are shipping to the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom, you may see the option to enter your billing address. You will need to uncheck the Same address as shipping address box and fill in your billing address.
  5. To pay, review your order information. Click Place an Order

Oberlo Chrome extension syncs AliExpress order ID back to Oberlo, and changes Oberlo order status to Inawaiting shipment.

You will need to place separate AliExpress orders if your order includes products from different AliExpress suppliers.

Sync your order information

Once you have placed your order, the supplier will need to take a few days for your order to be reviewed and shipped out. This is called the order processing time. You will receive an email from the supplier confirming your order and a tracking number via AliExpress. Oberlo will need to sync all your order information.

The following changes will occur after you have synchronized your order information from AliExpress into Oberlo:

  • Your order status changes to Shipped in Oberlo.
  • Shopify marks your order as complete.
  • Oberlo and Shopify sync the order tracking number.
  • If you have configured the automatic shipping confirmations notifications, then your customer receives an order confirmation email or SMS.

To see the date and hour of your last order sync click Oberlo admin > orders > click Actions next an order. Based on your Other settings, the date and time will be displayed.

Sync one order in your Oberlo admin

To mark your order as complete in Shopify, you can sync one order’s information from Oberlo admin.

  1. Go to the aliexpress.com website and log into your AliExpress account.
  2. Click Orders from your Oberlo admin.
  3. Choose the order you want to sync.
  4. Click SYNC TO ALIEXPRESS.

Multiple orders can be synchronized in your AliExpress Account

To mark multiple orders as complete in Shopify, you can sync order information from AliExpress in bulk.

  1. Go to the aliexpress.com website and log into your AliExpress account.
  2. Click on Account > My Orders.
  3. Click on SYNC WITH OBERLO THIS PAGE, LAST 5-DAYS, LAST 10-DAYS or LAST 30-DAYS.

Keep an eye on your order

You can make sure your customers have a positive experience by knowing the status of your orders. If your supplier provides tracking information, you can track the progress of your orders and ensure that your customers receive their order in the time you specified.

To increase customer trust and encourage future purchases, you can offer a discount or a refund to customers if you know that an order will not arrive on time. Learn more about tracking your orders.

Orders placed in AliExpress can be synced

Learn how to place your AliExpress orders, and how to synchronize order information from AliExpress into Oberlo.

After you have received an order from Shopify, you will need to visit the Orders section in Oberlo admin to place an order with a supplier. Once your AliExpress supplier has fulfilled your order, you will need to sync the order information from AliExpress into Oberlo. This will mark your order as complete in Shopify and notify your customer about it.

Requirements

Before you place orders, ensure you have met the following requirements.

  • You have the Oberlo Chrome extension installed on your browser.

Place one AliExpress order

Oberlo allows you to place one AliExpress order. You can place AliExpress orders for multiple AliExpress suppliers if your Shopify order includes products from more than one AliExpress supplier.

These are the steps:

  1. Click Orders from your Oberlo admin.
  2. To place an order, click ORDERnext. You will then be taken to the AliExpress checkout page. The Oberlo Chrome extension automatically adds the product to your shopping cart, fills in the customer shipping information, and selects your preferred shipping method.
  3. Choose your preferred payment method and enter your payment details. Click Continue.
  4. Optional If you are shipping to the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom, you may see the option to enter your billing address. You will need to uncheck the Same address as shipping address box and fill in your billing address.
  5. To pay, review your order information. Click Place an Order

Oberlo Chrome extensions syncs your AliExpress order ID back to Oberlo. This changes your order status to Inawaiting shipment. You need to wait until the supplier fulfills your order on AliExpress, and then sync your order information from AliExpress to Oberlo.
