Shopify Store Login Details All You Need to Know

It is a privilege to own an e-commerce shop in the 21st century. Shopify has even been ranked as one of the top companies online. You can view products, check inventory, manage customers, and even change your store settings or payment from anywhere. This Shopify tutorial will show you how to log in as either a store owner, or as a customer. You can also edit the Shopify login page to manage who is signing up.

We will provide general instructions for how to log into Shopify from different devices. If you have trouble logging in, there are some helpful apps that can help.

Shopify Store Login

Using a computer/laptop

  • Login to Shopify admin

You can visit the Shopify.com webpage on your computer/laptop, and click the ” Login” button.

Do not click the ” Start” button. This will create a new store under your email address, which could cause login problems.

If you believe you have created multiple shops from the email address, you should contact Shopify’s support team.

Once you are connected to the Login page type your domain name, email address and password.

You should be cautious with the ” Remember me” button as people will be able to access your store once you have their computer.

  • Login to Shopify store

Store owners have the power to allow customers to create accounts to log in to their stores and specific pages. Shopify has created this feature for different purposes.

This feature can be enabled by going to Shopify admin => Settings=> Checkout=> Customer accounts. There are three options available depending on what you prefer: Accounts can be disabled, Accounts can be enabled, or Accounts can be required.

If you’re a customer but cannot access the website or store, the site may be set up as “coming soon” or the owners will require that you create a customer account in order to log in.

If you are unable to create an account, it is likely that the store owners have disabled the customer registration feature.

Customers can only log in to the store from the default desktop setting. To log in to specific pages of the store, you will need to download Shopify’s app.

Using smartphone

After downloading the Shopify app, go to the app and enter your password and email address. To determine which store you wish to visit, enter your domain name if you have multiple shops.

The app needs to be running at least version 9.0 for iOS and Android. For iOS, you need to have your phone running from version 9.0 and Android from version 5.0.

To enable third-party Shopify apps read your data and connect with Shopify features, iOS version 14 and later must be enabled.

What should you do if you are unable to log in to your Shopify account?

Shopify users often experience login issues. Shopify runs on an online server and many users work simultaneously. This is unavoidable. To fix the problem, we will give you a few options.

Store owners

Sometimes, you may not be able to log in on your desktop but your phone or everyone else’s page work fine. Before contacting Support, please review the steps below.

Your system is working fine if all components have a green tick. Try to find the problem by looking at any red, yellow, or black icons in any section.

  • Checking to see if Shopify supports browsers

Shopify supports a variety of browsers. You must use either Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.

If necessary, update your browser to check if the login problem has been resolved.

  • Clearing cache

This is the most common solution for users’ login issues.

Your online store’s actions and modifications are saved in a cache memory keeper. Clearing it can help the store run more smoothly by releasing some memory burden.

Different browsers have different cache clearing guidelines. Please visit the Shopify help page to find the one that suits you best.

  • Shop in private/incognito browsing session

This could reduce the technical error in your main browser.

  • Use an alternate browser.

Switching to one of the listed supported browsers can fix a browser problem.

  • Use an alternative device.

You might have a problem with your desktop. If you log in to another device and it works, then you need to check for technical issues on your desktop.

If none of these options work, it’s time to contact Shopify Support. If you are unable to log in to your account, you can contact them via email or Twitter. Continue scrolling to see how Shopify can fix the problem.

Customers

One click is all it takes to get into most stores. You can use the following suggestions to create an account if you have difficulty logging in.

  • If you have forgotten your password, ask the store owners for help.

If you have forgotten your password, the store owner can reset it on their admin settings.

  • Receive invitations from the owner to create accounts for specific pages.

Ask the store owner for the link to unlock the locked page.

The email invitation will expire after 30 days. Please make sure you activate your account and create a new one before it expires.

Shopify Store Login Feature

After we have completed a tutorial on the login feature, BSS would recommend an app for store administrators to manage the login feature on Shopify’s homepages.

Sometimes you need specific product information and prices to be displayed to customers in wholesale or B2B sales. You can do this by editing Shopify’s login page. BSS Commerce’s B2B Access Management app would provide a quick solution for your business.

  • Features

This app allows you to control visibility and prices. Customers will need to create an account in order to log in and view locked pages. To manage the number and security of your login accounts, you can disable customer registration.

Customers can browse the product, but not buy or see the price.

Positive reviews indicate that the app is able to adapt to your business’s needs and provide customer support.

This app allows you to edit Shopify’s login page. It also gives you more control over small actions taken by customers. You can then target different sections of your customers easily with this app.

  • Pricing plan

The example store is available to view. BSS offers a free 4 day trial with 4 pricing plans: Pro Plan, Plus Plan and Platinum. These plans will cost approximately $5, $10 and $25 respectively.

The app will offer you more features if you pay more.

The Premium plan, for example, will only allow you to hide products from customers’ tags, send secret links through tokens to your customers, or create a secret shop for your customers.

You can select the level of security that you wish to place on certain pages depending on what your business requires.
